Terms of service.

Last updated 12 October 2026

The short version

  • Nothing up front. You pay once your website is built and you've approved it, and it goes live when payment arrives.
  • We make changes until you're happy, within what we agreed at your consultation. Anything bigger is quoted first.
  • Once paid for, the website is yours. Your domain is in your name.
  • The care plan is optional, with no minimum term. Cancel whenever you like, and your site stays online.

Who we are

ReMarque is run by Abdulrehman Shaker, a sole trader trading as ReMarque, based in Birmingham, UK. You can reach us at [email protected] or on 07305 601684.

These terms apply when you ask us to design and build a website, or join our care plan. Our services are for businesses. Anything else we agree with you in writing, for example the list of pages agreed at your consultation, forms part of our agreement too, and if it ever differs from these terms, what we agreed with you wins.

Your consultation

Your first consultation is free and there's no obligation. We talk through your business and agree the pages and what your website needs to do, so you know exactly what's included before we start.

Design and build: £299

  • What you get: a website designed around your business, built for phones, laptops and desktops, with the pages we agreed at your consultation, search basics done properly, and your domain connected.
  • Your preview: we share the website with you in your client portal before anything goes live.
  • Changes: we'll keep making changes until you're happy, as long as they're within what we agreed at your consultation. Bigger changes, such as new pages or new features, are quoted first and only go ahead if you agree.
  • Your content: you'll give us the information, words, photos and logos the site needs, or we'll shape them with you. By sending us content, you confirm it's accurate and that you have the right to use it. Any photos we source for you are properly licensed.
  • Approval: when you're happy, you approve the website in your client portal.

Paying

  • Nothing up front. Once you've approved your website, we send you a payment link: £299, plus the first month of the care plan if you've chosen it.
  • You can pay by card through Stripe, or by bank transfer using the details in your client portal.
  • Your website goes live as soon as payment arrives. If you decide not to go ahead, you don't pay, and we don't publish the website.
  • We're not registered for VAT, so there's no VAT to add to our prices.

Who owns the website

Once you've paid, the website is yours. You're free to use it, change it, or move it elsewhere, and if you ever want its files, just ask. Your domain is registered in your name and you pay its yearly fee directly.

We may reuse general techniques and code that aren't specific to your business. We'll only show your website in our portfolio with your permission.

Hosting

We keep your website online on fast, secure hosting. If you're not on the care plan, we keep it online free of charge. If we ever stop offering free hosting, we'll give you at least three months' notice and hand over your website's files so you can move it.

We use reliable hosting providers, but no one can promise a website will never be unavailable. If something goes wrong, we'll work to get your site back online as quickly as we can.

The care plan: £29.99 a month

  • What's covered: hosting and the secure connection (the padlock in the address bar), small updates such as prices, opening hours, photos and menu items, fixes if anything breaks, and keeping your site online and up to date. Bigger changes, like new pages or features, are quoted before any work starts.
  • Payments: monthly by card through Stripe, or by standing order, starting on the day your website goes live.
  • No minimum term. Cancel whenever you like, using "Manage card or cancel" in your client portal, or by emailing us. The plan stays active until the end of the month you've already paid for, and we don't refund part months.
  • If a payment fails, we'll let you know and give you 14 days to update your card. After that the care plan ends. Your website stays online either way.
  • Price changes: we'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any change to the care plan price, so you can cancel before it applies if you'd rather.

Changes without the care plan

If you're not on the care plan, we're still happy to make changes. We'll quote each one before starting, and nothing is charged until you've agreed the price.

If something isn't right

We do our work with reasonable care and skill. If something we built doesn't work as we agreed when your website goes live, tell us within 30 days and we'll put it right free of charge.

We're not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost business. Our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Your information

How we use your personal information is explained in our privacy notice.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top. If a change affects you as a current client, we'll tell you before it applies.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you're ever unhappy, please talk to us first: most things can be sorted with a conversation.
